Topper at 3 Weeks

Topper, our first miniature donkey born on our farm, is absolutely a dream. The video posted here is him at 3 weeks old. We let him and his mother out to roam the property and he had a blast. He explored everywhere.

He also managed his first solid food. Every leaf he found went into his mouth and he was soon munching on them everywhere.

I don’t have many rules; at least I don’t think so. One that I do have is no cats in my office. One rule Katrina has is Dick has no rules. I hate cat hairs on my keyboard and on my desk. Katrina likes her animals any where any time.

When I am in my office, door open, door shut makes no difference the cats stay clear. Katrina comes home, walks in my office and the cats march in behind her like she is there secret weapon and protector (which she is).

Lucille will look at me with great disdain and flaunt her superiority every time. I have learned that if I give her the evil eye it might slow her down but if I get out of my chair she will bolt for the door.

She is getting braver. Now when Katrina is not home she will come up to the very top step outside my door (more…)

New Born Turns Three Weeks Old!

A lot of people have been looking at our new little baby miniature donkey. He is the absolute loving est little guy you have ever seen. If he hears Katrina or I any where near the barn he comes running out his stall and wants us to pet him. He loves to be scratched and petted. The more you pet the more he presses up against you.

However, he just got some teeth and now he is like a little alligator! His mouth is opening and shutting all the time and he loves to bite. His favorite thing to do (more…)

City Girl Saves Bird

Katrina loves animals. I don’t care what it is she loves it. Sometimes I think when I return from an out of town trip I may find a donkey in my bed and some straw in the barn for me. Just kidding, Katrina would never let a donkey into her bed, they won’t lie still!

This is Katina’s other Bird; 1965 Thunderbird!

When we moved from Southern CA to Middle TN the most often asked question was why did you move from California? This question always came from a native Tennessean and never from one who had lived anywhere else; they already knew the answer.
